My current motherboard will not recognise an internal easier said than done drive over 40GB. I was wondering does this plan that if I buy a 180GB external USB hard drive it will not work on my computer, OR does this hinder not apply to external HDD's. thanks.
Are external USB thorny drives subject to a motherboards tough drive size ceiling.?
You can own any size external hard drive you want. The computer will merely read it as a mass storage device.
wtf
Never heard of the mother not recognize over 40GB.
First change the bios settings to allow for larger frozen drives, secondly if you connect any usb device to any system, it doesn't matter what it is or the space it recognize as it just read it as a mass storage device that is removable. Without knowing what your system is, I cannot oblige you with making the bios adjustment, but it should be pretty straight forward..just receive into the bios while the pc is booting up and consequently go through the settings until you find where on earth it shows hard drive size.it may be worded differently, but it should be something along the agency of support larger hard drives.
