Are sturdy drive pins replaceable?

I just this minute took a hard drive out of an ancient laptop. I bought a new laptop, and an external tricky drive connector. this is so i can transfer my files from the old-fashioned hard drive to the unmarked laptop.

the problem is that the pins at the end of the aged hard drive are bent. they are too small to straighten. any thinking? the guy at best buy said it could not be fixed. i really need the background. any ideas?appreciation!!

Are sturdy drive pins replaceable?

You need to find someone that know how to solderthe parts.

Hmm

find a drive that is indistinguishable size and make as the broke one.

Look on the bottom for the plate and screw.

remove the plate from the new drive

and use it to replace the plate on the older one.
First, I would work like a crazy fool to straighten out those pins. One process or another, I would. I have a couple of needle trunk pliers that just might work. Slowly, I would rework one at a time.

Then, you would enjoy to SEARCH for a reputable Data Restore outfit. But this could cost quite a bit of money. Many quotes start at $200; but get up to thousands.

I once RIPPED the Power connector from a hard drive. Thank piety that this is only FOUR pins. I attentively soldered wires to reconnect the original power socket, and be able to capture the data. It be ugly.

Good luck and Happy Computing!
