I hold all my itunes music on my external thorny drive, and my external hard drive have been messing up deeply lately..so I'm getting scared that I might lose 3000 songs because my external is the single place I have my songs save..I want to backup ALL of my songs onto my hard drive...how can I do this??
thankfulness
Backup songs on itunes on rock-hard drive?
Be a man...do the right thing. Double check everything label sure that the transition will go smoothly. If your computer have a history of crashing and stuff I'd consider cleaning up, scanning for virus and stuff. =P
Can't do it through Itunes. Open my computer, open your external not easy drive, and start a new go through (ctrl+f)
Choose Find pictures, Music, Or Video and check the music box. Put an asterisk (*) into the box, and search.
This will find adjectives the music files on your external hard drive. select them adjectives (or all you want to copy) and any COPY (to back up) or CUT (to transfer) them (right click)
Do as Louis H said. Better safe and sound than sorry.
I'm on a mac, and all I own to do is drag the iTunes folder (this includes all your setting, libraries, and most importantly songs) and drop it where on earth necessary (usually the music folder). I own all my stuff on my tough drive and have back up onto my external one. If you're on windows, it should be similar save the same.
