It will work, but the audio element is not as good. You can usually pick up a computer mic at Wal-mart for around $10. That is your best bet. It really depends on what you will be using the mic for. I sing alot of karaoke online so I use a regular microphone instead of a computer mic. You can buy these for around $10 too.

But for better recital, I would aim for the 8600gt And there not much more expensive
if you maxed out settings you would gain low FPS either step to a 8600 or Radeon 2600PRO or use 2 8500GTs in SLI (which i do not recommend)

economically id voice your best bet in nvida would be 8600gt its a touch dearer than one forty well i rewarded 170 for mine last week but any track its a good alround card next to directx 10 capibilitys and 256 of ddr 3 ram i can play nothingness perfect and warfighter and games close to that so u shouldnt go wrong next to one of those

Any card made near a Nvidia GPU would be fine. It really depends on what you want to do. You can spend over $300 dollars and get any revision of their new 8800 engine. I enjoy a card made by EVGA which has the Nvidia 8800 GTS next to 320mb of video memory. There are less expensive version as Nvidia makes an 8600 and an 8200.



Of course within is ATI which is owned by AMD and their cards are o.k. Not as fast as the glorious end Nvidia, but consequently again it all depends on what you want to do.



Just thieve into account if you want PCI or PCI-E and your system have an empty slot.
I own 8600 gts geforce , its a great card , and not as expensive as the 8800.
