Cable Modem Vs ADSL Modem?

They are both a form of broadband, and they are both about impossible to tell apart speed.

In many market, you can get slower DSL and stockpile money over faster DSL. DSL is uaully cheaper then cable.

Overall, one is not better afterwards the other... but in some neighborhoods, some PROVIDERS are better consequently others.

For example, me and a friend of mine live about 4 miles apart. We both hold had Cable and DSL.

For me, my DSL be always dropping out and be slow... so I switched to Cable, and I have no problems.

The oppisate happen to my friend... he had cable, it be constantly going down, so he switched to DSL and he has no problems.

I would look for who have the better offer at the moment and step with them. If it sucks, consequently switch. also, ask your neighbors what they have, and how in good health it works.
ADSL modem works by connecting a phone cable to your phone jack. Cable modem in the singapore context technique the modem given you by Starhub or SCV, which connects to a round socket on a white box that was installed on your wall, probably 7-8 years ago if you do not live in a more recently-built place.
Cable is broadband. ADSL is faster DSl. Go withthe cable for faster speeds.

Most DSL providers don't block any ports so you can run a mail/web server etc.. Maybe hold on to that in mind.
