I own a dell c521 with a single cd rom drive, 2gb of strike, 160gb hd, and an AMD atholon x2 3800 cpu

It can run on a 280 watt PSU but in your rig I wouldnt recommend it. Your 2 gigs of RAM and processor clutch up a fair amount of power. Your cd rom and knotty drive probably take up most of the power vanished over so there probably wont be adequate for that card. However, if your PSU is protected against overloading, plug in the card and see if it will work. If it boots, next you are good. If not, you entail to upgrade power supplies.
