Can i remove dvd drive from PC minus replacing it?

My DVD drive runs constantly and won' t read a DVD. I plan on replacing it, but for presently I need to lately remove it. Is there anything I call for to know?

Nope, just power down the PC and remove the cable and fasteners.
Not really..you can soundly just rob it out. Be sure to unplug everything and power. When you start your computer back up, it will newly be missing the DVD drive in My Computer, that's adjectives.
yes you can remove it without Replacing it but from what you said it sounds close to you have the facts cable on backwards
Don't remove it until you're ready to replace it - it will donate a hole that will allow dust to get inside your computer. Just disconnect adjectives the cables from it and give up it in place.
Turn sour the computer, open the computer, unplug the cords, and remove the drive. you might want to remove the software first. Fry's is selling a dvd recorder for 50 dollars.
Note down the position of the pullover. It is usually marked SL | CS | MA.



When you put the exotic drive in later move the jumper it comes beside to the same position.



Also remember that the big flat cable can well be inserted upside down so check when you install it.
yea make sure the ribbon cable is not upside down. If you hold any tech savvy buddies call em over to enjoy a look.



if all fail just verbs the smaller power lead from the disc drive. no more fuss.
make sure u disconnect the power cords b4 u remove it
